Kalshi Fee and Breakeven Calculator for BTC 15-Minute Contracts

DegenHedge Research  ·  Fee rule checked October 6, 2026  ·  Runs in your browser  ·  A calculator, not betting advice
Short answer

Kalshi charges takers 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price), rounded up to the next cent for the order. On one contract that is 2¢ at 50¢ and 1¢ at 99¢. Your breakeven win rate is what you pay, fee included, divided by the $1 a winning contract returns. A one-contract order at 99¢ has a breakeven of 100%: it cannot come out ahead even when it wins.

Checking Kalshi's live series record for KXBTC15M…

Assumes a standard retail Kalshi account, one fill per order at the price you enter, and the series multiplier Kalshi lists (1 for KXBTC15M). Real fills can come in at several prices, and Kalshi carries any rounding overpayment across the fills of one order, so a split order can pay slightly less than shown.

Taker orders, one fill per order, standard retail account, series multiplier 1. Breakeven = (contracts × price + fee) ÷ contracts, as a percent of $1. Maker orders on KXBTC15M pay no fee, so their breakeven is the price.

What our own record shows at each price

A breakeven only matters next to how often contracts at that price actually won.

These are signals our BTC 15-minute feed sent, priced at the live Kalshi ask when each fired and graded on Kalshi's official result. Across all of them the feed won 91.21% at a 91.74¢ average entry, 0.53 points under breakeven before fees. "Within chance" means the gap between win rate and price is smaller than sampling noise, judged with a correction for testing ten price ranges at once.

Common questions about Kalshi fees and breakeven

How is the Kalshi fee calculated on a BTC 15-minute contract?

Kalshi's published taker fee is 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price), with the price in dollars, computed to a millionth of a dollar and rounded up to the next cent for the order on a standard account. One contract costs 2¢ in fees at 50¢ and 1¢ at 99¢. A 100-contract order pays about 1.75¢ per contract at 50¢ and 0.07¢ at 99¢.

Do maker orders pay a fee on Kalshi BTC 15-minute markets?

Not as of our October 6, 2026 check. Kalshi charges maker fees only on series it lists for them, and its public series record for KXBTC15M shows fee type "quadratic" with multiplier 1, the standard taker-only schedule. The calculator re-checks that record when it loads and warns you if it changes.

What win rate do I need to break even on a 95¢ Kalshi contract?

95% before fees. On a one-contract order the fee is 1¢, so you need 96%. On a 100-contract order the fee is about 0.34¢ per contract, so you need about 95.34%.

Why can a 99¢ contract not make money on a one-contract order?

A 99¢ contract pays $1.00 if it wins, a 1¢ profit, and Kalshi rounds the fee on a one-contract order up to 1¢. Even a win nets nothing, and a loss costs $1.00 including the fee. Larger orders spread the rounding: at 100 contracts the breakeven is about 99.07%.

Does Kalshi charge a settlement fee on BTC 15-minute contracts?

Kalshi's published fee schedule, as we read it on October 4, 2026, says there is no settlement fee. Winning contracts pay $1.00 each. Fee schedules change, so check Kalshi's current schedule.

What does the record line in the calculator mean?

It is our own BTC 15-minute feed's graded result at that entry price, March 24 to October 4, 2026: how often signals in that price range won, against the price paid. Across all 11,537 signals the feed won 91.21% at a 91.74¢ average entry, below breakeven before fees. It describes the past; it does not predict a single window.

⚠️

Risk reality: read before acting on anything here

These are 15-minute binary prediction-market contracts. Any single window can lose 100% of your stake. They settle on a 60-second index average, not on the exchange chart you may be watching. At high prices a loss costs many times what a win pays, and Kalshi's fee raises the win rate you need above the price. Nothing on this page is financial, investment, or betting advice.
